Who is Middleton United?
Middleton United Soccer Club is a non-profit soccer club, run primarily by volunteer parents and under the supervision of a coaching director.  MU will provide a positive, fun, organized, and affordable soccer program for young players living in or near the Middleton and Cross Plains school districts.

Are Middleton United and MAYSA the same thing?
No, however, we are connected.  Madison Area Youth Soccer Association (MAYSA) is the governing body for local soccer clubs.   There are nearly 40 clubs within MAYSA, including Middleton United.  MAYSA is part of Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association (WYSA), which is a part of the United States Youth Soccer Assocation (USYSA.)

Are Scholarships Available?
Assistance is available to families in financial need.   Please complete the scholarship packet and turn in 3 weeks prior to the program start date (see Contact Us for our address.)  All applications will be kept confidential.

When does the season start?

Teams are usually formed in late summer (July) for the fall season and late spring (March) for the spring season.  The fall season typically starts the weekend after Labor Day.  The spring season typically starts (weather pending) in early April.  There are 8-10 weeks in each season.  One soccer year includes both the fall and spring seasons.

When is registration?
Registration for our Recreational program is open in May for the following year.  Registration is allowed throughout the fall if there is room on a team.  Registration will reopen in January for the spring season.  All players interested in our Competitive program need to participate in tryouts at the end of May into early June.

Are there tryouts?
Middleton United will host tryouts for those players interested in playing in our U11-U14 Competitive Leagues.  For players participating in the Recreational League, they will not need to tryout.

Can I join your club even if I don't live in the Middleton and Cross Plains school district?
Yes.  There are many reasons for people to join Middleton United, even if they don't live in Middleton.  For example, it may be conveniently located to your work or daycare or your child may want to play with a friend who lives in the Middleton/Cross Plains area.

Who will coach the teams?
For our U5-U14 Recreational teams, parents will volunteer to help coach and/or manage the teams.  For our U11-U19 Competitive teams, there will be paid coaches.  ALL coaches have background checks conducted and ARE required to have a license.  If you are interested in coaching, please indicate when you register your child for the season or contact Middleton United.

Is this recreational or competitive play?
Middleton United will provide opportunities for both recreational and competitive game play.  Families can choose based on their preference.

Do we need to get uniforms each year?
No.  Your child will be able to keep their uniform for a minimum of 2 years.  You will be able to purchase new jerseys as you see fit (child outgrows jersey, replacement jerseys needed, etc.)

Uniforms are ordered and paid through Stefan's Soccer Supply.  They can be reached at 608.826.4222
